NEW ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS - A new adult Sunday school class is forming in room 208 at 9:45 a.m. We are using a book by John Blackaby “Encounters with God”, The Gospel of John. This book is a good small group study that promotes group discussion through reading the scripture and answering questions about life situations that we can relate to. If you are looking to meet people in a small group setting and would like to grow in your faith journey, please come and spent some time with us. Do you enjoy reading? If you like to read and like to eat this is is the group for you. Our group has evolved into a "brunch bunch" and it's guaranteed to be enjoyable The April selection will be “Just Above a Whisper.” The book is part of the Tucker Mills Trilogy and are written by a fantastic Christian author, Lori Wick. Join us April 26, at 10:00 a.m. for a potluck brunch at the home of Margaret Knight. SPRING FLING – Mark Sunday, April 27 in bold print on your calendars for the Spring Fling potluck lunch in the social hall after the 11:00 a.m. service. Sign up on the bulletin board outside the narthex for the dish you will bring. Plan to join CUMC members for fun, fellowship and food, and to sing favorite songs after the meal. Read more ...UMW MAY BANQUET is Thursday, May 1, at 6:30 p.m., in the social hall. The general meeting on “A Ripple of Hope" will follow in the sanctuary. Tickets are $10 through UMW circles, or Sundays near the bulletin board area. All women are invited to attend. LET’S GET ACQUAINTED (in
the Doorway Class!) – Sunday, May 4 & 11, 9:40 a.m. If you’re a
newcomer and want to know more about us, or you’re feeling at home and
want to become a member of this church family, we invite you to join our
May Doorway Class and get an “up close and personal” view of life at
Community UMC. This informal and welcoming class is a great place to get
acquainted with our pastors and church staff, and learn about church
ministries and programs, study opportunities, our Methodist heritage, and

CUMC, here is where we stand: STEPHEN MINISTERS are lay members of our church who are well trained and
equipped to offer confidential, one-to-one Christian care to people
experiencing a difficult or stressful time in life. Stephen Ministers care
by listening, reflecting thoughts and feelings, providing love and
acceptance, and a safe place where burdens of worry and pent-up feelings

Helping Hands Opportunities .... Mattaponi Native American
Indian Healing Clinic AGAPE
CHRISTIAN CHILDREN'S COMMUNITY CENTER, Horntown, Eastern Shore district -
Outreach Ministries would like to send as many children as possible form
the community of Horntown to the Center's preschool, after school program and Vacation Bible
school. On Sunday, April 27, please consider a financial
contribution. Our support helps the children have a good food to eat,
prepare for and excel upon entering school, and lean how much Jesus love

ADULT MISSION TRIP -
This fall, Community
will be sending a team of adult volunteers to the MEALS
ON WHEELS needs
a team of two volunteers Friday, April 25. Volunteers should report to Sentara
Appalachia
Service Project Teams - Community's youth and their adult leaders will be traveling to
Magoffin County, Change
for the Children of Brazil – Our
pocket change can mean the difference between children living in a safe
environment surrounded by loving, dedicated individuals, or living on the
streets where crime, drugs and prostitution await. Be the difference by
dropping your change in the large plastic containers in the narthex.
